Project: MDEQ House of Imports Rochester Hills, Mi.
Date: Nov. 2009
Scope: Remediation of 10,000 tons of PCB contaminated soils. Wetlands restoration, creek diversion, water treatment and site restoration.
In 2009, K&D completed the referenced dredge project for the State of Michigan. The project consisted of the removal, hauling and disposal of approximately 10,400 cubic yards of sediment contaminated with PCBs, restoration of approximately 800 linear feet of stream and 1.6 acres of adjacent wetlands.
The dredging required temporary relocation of a stream, treatment and discharge of dewatering fluids under an NPDES permit (approximately 230,000 gal), restoration of the stream and associated wetlands with gravel fill, top soil and native wetland plantings. The water treatment System, consisted of two 1,200 pound carbon vessels, two dual stage bag filters. Final project closeout was April 2010.
